NEER DOSA / COCONUT DOSA / INSTANT RICE CREPES/ NEERU DOSE

Neer dosa or Neeru dose is a Mangalorean special dish . You can add this  to your list of dosa varieties  . Very simple to make yet tastes good . It does not need any fermentation and no need of grinder also just you can do in mixer . Try a small quantity you will come to know . I had this dosa many times in mom's home but never tried  , but today i did it first time and all liked it very much , in fact did second round in evening and emptied the batter .
You can find these dosa's in Bangalore hotels also but bit expensive for such a easy dish .
So here comes Mangalore special Neeru dose .......
Neer dosa , neeru dosa , instant rice dosa , coconut dosa , kayi dosa , no fermentation rice dosa , mangalore dosa .

Ingredients :-
  • Dosa rice / normal rice/ broken rice                    2 cups
  • Grated fresh coconut                                            1 cup
  • Oil
  • Water
  • Salt
Method:-
  • Wash and soak rice for 3-4 hrs  / over night .
  • Grind soaked rice with grated coconut and salt (1/2 r 1 tsp)  by adding water sufficiently and make very fine paste.
  • Add water to batter after grinding also so that batter's consistency should be like milk .
Heat dosa thava / non stick pan , for thava spread 2 drops of oil then pour the batter on it just like rava dosa  & again sprinkle 2-3 drops of oil on dosa (not compulsory it needs very less oil ) . keep low flame other wise dosa looks differently ,  after few min   flip the dosa and cook other side (if using nonstick not necessary) .

Note:-
  • You can't spread this dosa as normal dosa . Thava should not be too hot if it is too hot texture of dosa will change , so for every dosa before spreading sprinkle water then spread dosa.
  • Previous day only you can prepare this batter & keep in  refrigerator and you can use in busy morning , i did like this only .
  • If you don't have grated coconut , u can do like this - chop the coconut first grind it alone and make powder like texture now u can add soaked rice n water and grind along with it to make fine paste texture.
